Transition Town

Sustainable Thornbury has become a Transition Initiative, i.e. a Transition Town. This working group has been set up to find out the implications of becoming a Transition Initiative and to try and make this happen. 

The Transition Handbook sets out how a Transition Town project might begin with 12 steps. It would set up a steering group, build a team and unleash itself. Projects would then be started by working groups.

We have already got beyond these beginnings. Even so, there are still things we have to do:-

• Hold a big public meeting, maybe next year, with a speaker who will attract the crowds, such as Rob Hopkins;
• Network with other organisations in the area.
